Dog Friendly Places in North Wales Where Dogs Will Have a Ball

If you are staying at Sirior Bach this summer with your pet, there are innumerable Dog-friendly places in North Wales to visit.

From beaches and coffee shops to country inns, here are our recommendations:

Llangollen Wharf

Make your way down to the canal, stopping to watch the horse-drawn boats. There is a tea room there where you will be allowed with your dog.  The food is excellent.

Abergele Beach

There are some restrictions on parts of the beach between 1 May and 30 September and they are clearly marked.  This is a mainly shingle beach and your dog can splash around in the sea and romp on the sand to its heart’s content. There are great views in all directions of the sea and countryside.

The Bryncynan Pub, Morfa Nefyn

This historic country inn is a great place to take all the family perhaps for Sunday lunch. Some parts of it date back 200 years. The grounds are picturesque and the food is to die for. They have a massively varied menu including both local and international cuisine.  Reasonably priced, the Bryncynan is well worth a visit and your well-behaved dog will receive a warm welcome.

Castles

Wales is renowned for its castles and no holiday would be complete without visiting at least one. Most castles allow well-behaved dogs but make sure you keep them on a lead during your visit. Check out the castles on this link to make your choice

Barmouth

This area must be one of the most dog-friendly places in North Wales if not the whole of the UK. There are plenty of walking trails and you can take your pet on parts of the long sandy beach.  Barmouth is a traditional seaside resort with so many things to do, you are your family will be spoiled for choice.  There are trampolines, donkey rides and amusement arcades. If you feel like pampering yourself there are hair and beauty salons where you can even get a relaxing massage if you wish. There’s plenty of shopping and you can even get a tattoo if you wish.  You can view the list of dog-friendly pubs here and there are quite a few of them.

If you’d like to check out more things to do with your pet, there has been a Facebook page set up dedicated to dog-friendly places in North Wales. While a bit out of date now (it stopped posting in 2020), scrolling through some of the posts might give you an idea of some things to do together.

Those who own holiday homes on Sirior Bach Caravan Park are aware of the fantastic nature walks surrounding us. If you are thinking about buying a caravan this area is, without a doubt, a dog’s paradise.
