Walking Paths on a Static Caravan Holiday in Wales

If your doctor has advised you to walk more to improve your health or you just love walking, Wales is a place that has so much to offer including coastal and rural walking paths many of which are near Static Caravan Holiday Parks.

Gwendraeth – Walking along the estuary edge from Kidwelly Quay to Pembrey, beside the banks of the Gwendraeth River is popular with walkers and hikers.  You will see Pembrey pine forest along the way and as you walk through this nature reserve pay attention to the sea wall and sand dunes where trees have been planted. This is a great walk for all the family, spanning around 6 miles so easily achievable if you take adequate breaks along the way.

The Welsh coastal path as the name suggests allows you to walk all around the coastline, so if you like beaches this walk is ideal.  The maintenance of the coastal path is undertaken jointly by 16 Councils, the Welsh Government, 2 National Parks and Natural Resources Wales to make sure that it’s safe and practical to use.

Coed Alltfedw – An area of dense woodland and renowned as a natural butterfly habitat, located close to the River Ystwyth. You’ll also find a lake here, old ruined hill fort and railway bridge. It’s an ideal location for a picnic and somewhere young children love to explore.

Offas Dyke Path – People who take walking seriously will love walking along this Welsh/English border path where the 8th Century Offa’s Dyke can be found. Walking the whole of this border path would be difficult and take time but choosing a part of it to do is a good idea, especially if you take a picnic along. You can start the walk in Prestatyn with the Beginning and End Sculpture (Dechrau a Diwedd) marking the beginning of the trail.

The great thing about walking is it doesn’t cost money and you get to see so many things like wildlife, birds, butterflies, rare plants and ancient buildings. We are always adding walks to our database so if you have any you especially enjoy perhaps you could send us the details.

A Static Caravan Holiday Park in Wales can be the perfect places to base yourself for a walking holiday because they are often located at the beginning of the trails.
